For the past few years, Nike has teamed up with Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to give kids the opportunity to design their own Nike shoe and have a chance for their shoe to come to life as an actual product release. The varsity-red upper features a diagonal grid that subtly spells his name “COLE” within the diamond shapes. If you take a look behind the back tab on each of the shoes, there is a picture of one of Cole’s favorite foods: spaghetti on the left shoe and chocolate on the right. Each insole has words that are representative of common characteristics of the Doernbecher kids: “COURAGE” and “STR3NGTH”.
